Why embroidery is the standard for branded caps
Embroidery is the most common decoration choice for custom caps because it looks premium and lasts as long as the cap itself. Stitched thread will not crack, fade or peel the way some prints can, which makes it the default option for corporate uniforms, team caps and retail brands that want their logo to hold up through repeated wear and washing.
We offer two embroidery techniques. Flat embroidery sits close to the fabric for a clean, classic finish and is the right choice for fine text and detailed logos. 3D puff embroidery adds a raised foam underlay so the logo lifts off the panel, which gives bold, simple shapes extra depth. Both are available across our cap range, including trucker caps, baseball caps, snapbacks and 5-panel caps.
Every embroidered order starts with digitizing: your logo is converted into a stitch file that controls thread colors, stitch directions and density. We prepare that file, show you a digital mockup of the exact placement and size, and only then move to a physical sample. This sequence removes the guesswork that causes most embroidery mistakes.

How stitch count drives price, and the recommended logo dimensions for each cap area.
Stitch count and how it affects price
Stitch count is the number of needle stitches in your digitized logo. A small chest-size logo might run in the low thousands of stitches, while a large, dense front design can run much higher. Because thread and machine time scale with stitch count, larger and denser designs cost more. We quote the actual stitch count for your design rather than a flat "per logo" price, so you pay for exactly what you get.

Thread colors and Pantone matching
We stock [THREAD_COLORS] thread colors covering the most common brand palettes, and we match to Pantone references for anything outside the stocked range. Send your Pantone number and we confirm the closest thread match on your mockup before sampling. Note that thread has a slight sheen, so an exact on-screen color should always be verified against a physical thread card — we can provide one on request.
Artwork file requirements

- Solid, flat colors work best; avoid gradients for embroidery
Embroidery FAQ
Minimum order for embroidered caps is [MOQ] pieces per style per color. This minimum applies to a single cap style and a single thread color combination. Mixed sizes are usually counted within the same style as long as the logo and colors stay the same.
Thin lines are the most common embroidery problem. Lines below roughly 1mm of stroke can lose definition or break up when stitched. We review every file before production and will recommend thickening strokes, simplifying small text, or moving fine detail to a print method if embroidery would compromise the logo.
Gradients and photos do not translate well to thread. Embroidery works best with solid, flat colors. For gradients, shading or photographic artwork we recommend screen print, heat transfer or sublimation instead. We will advise on the right method for your artwork before you commit to embroidery.
Stitch count is calculated from the digitized version of your logo. Dense or large designs use more stitches and cost more than simple, small ones. Our quote shows the stitch count and price for your exact design, so you always know what you are paying for.
Our thread library covers [THREAD_COLORS] stocked colors plus a standard Pantone-matching range. Extra colors beyond the design quoted are usually included as long as they are stocked; special Pantone matching may add a small per-color fee of [COLOR_FEE].
A front-panel logo typically sits within [FRONT_MAX_W] wide by [FRONT_MAX_H] tall on a structured cap. Larger designs are possible but may lose quality near the panel edges or the crown seam. We confirm placement and size on your digital mockup before sampling.
Vector files are preferred: AI, EPS or PDF with text converted to outlines. High-resolution PNG (300 dpi at final print size) is also accepted. If you only have a JPG or a photo of your logo, send it anyway and our digitizing team will advise whether it can be cleaned up.
Yes. We produce a physical sample in [SAMPLE_DAYS] days after artwork approval. The sample cost is [SAMPLE_FEE], which is typically credited back against your bulk order. No bulk production starts until you approve the sample.
Yes. A common combination is a flat embroidered front logo with a woven or leather patch on the side, or embroidered front with screen print on the side. Each decoration is quoted separately and all of it is reviewed together on one mockup.
3D puff needs a structured front panel to hold the raised foam shape, so it works best on structured baseball caps, trucker caps and snapbacks. It is less suitable for unstructured dad hats where the panel is soft. Flat embroidery works on almost every style including beanies and visors.
